The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists (GHP) is led by a National Occupational Professional Committee (NOPC) made up of members from across the UK, representing regions, as well as a number of executive roles including the President, Vice-president, Chair of Practice, Chair of Terms and Conditions, Chair of Education and Training, Chair of Sustainability and the Chair of Equality and Diversity.  These colleagues work to represent our members’ views at a local and national level, giving up their own time to support important issues affecting our profession. 

The role of regional member for Scotland is to tap into the membership in Scotland and ensure members views are heard around the council table. This person is also responsible for membership engagement including hosting Scottish-centric webinars, events, and would be expected to meet regularly with key individuals including the Chief Pharmaceutical Officer, GPhC Director for Scotland, relevant Robert Gordon University and University of Strathclyde staff, NHS Education for Scotland and many more. There are established links and meetings with some of these individuals or organisations and support would be given but the applicant must be able to function autonomously while representing the GHP at high-level meetings and events. You would be expected to complete relevant Unite training to become an accredited trade union representative within 2 years of successful election to the NOPC.
